Some post 16 students have been to St Johns Church for their Community Challenge lesson. It is also part of their volunteering section for Duke of Edinburgh Award. During the visit, the students are treat to tea and biscuits and a chat with the residents of the local community The students have also made bat boxes and hedgehog houses for the church yard.
Science exams have started this week, good luck to all those taking part.

We have registered school with NUS (National Union of Students) so that our students are eligible to apply for nusextra cards. To be eligible your child must be in Year 11,12,13 or 14 and over the age of 16. The cards cost £12 for 1 year, £22 for 2 years and £32 for 3 years and provide a photo ID of student status. Students from Post 16 and KS4 have been taking part in a variety of sporting activities especially for girls at both Gateshead Stadium and Walker Dome. These include football, tag rugby, dance, pentathlon and multi skills. It is a good social opportunity to mix with girls from other schools.
Wednesday afternoons 8 students from Post 16 go to The Sage in Gateshead, where they take part in a singing group including students from Hedley’s College.
