Post 16 Student discount schemes.

Is your child/young person aged 16 or over? If so, they can avail of Student Discount. The following information is for pupils who are aged 16 and above or are in Post 16 at school.

UNiDAYS is an entirely free online system with no sign-up cost, no membership card and it’s entirely for students! All you have to do is enter your email and verify your student status. Registration is quick and easy so you will be saving within a matter of minutes. Once you register, which you must do using your school email address you will be able to get student discounts. You can also download vouchers to use in some stores.

NUSExtra.                                                                                                     

We have registered school with NUS (National Union of Students) so that our students are eligible to apply for nusextra cards. To be eligible your child must be in Year 11,12,13 or 14 and over the age of 16.  The cards cost £12 for 1 year, £22 for 2 years and £32 for 3 years and provide a photo ID of student status. There are a range of discounts, online and instore which may be useful. Full information is available on their website: www.nus.org.uk

Community Challenge

Some post 16 students have been to St Johns Church for their Community Challenge lesson. It is also part of their volunteering section for Duke of Edinburgh Award. During the visit, the students are treat to tea and biscuits and a chat with the residents of the local community The students have also made bat boxes and hedgehog houses for the church yard.

Girls Sport

Students from Post 16 and KS4 have been taking part in a variety of sporting activities especially for girls at both Gateshead Stadium and Walker Dome. These include football, tag rugby, dance, pentathlon and multi skills. It is a good social opportunity to mix with girls from other schools.

Music Spark’s

Wednesday afternoons 8 students from  Post 16 go to The Sage in Gateshead, where they take part in a singing group including students from Hedley’s College.
